The obvious turning of Syria towards the market economy has become one of the most changes which has taken place on the economic activity in Syria with the focusing on the significance of such change and the capability it achieves to face the great economic changes which have occurred and continuously occurring.
The statistics indicate that the economic growth rate in Syria has become 4.5 % in the year 2006 which recorded less than a zero during the year 2000. Such growth could be attributed to the governmental policies that are based upon a clear vision of the economic reform and which take the development of the financial and monetary policy and the guaranteeing of the central Bank independence into consideration.
